Aphrodita Nicolova is an interdisciplinary social scientist and education researcher researching intersections across youth education, creative arts and digital humanities, and abolitionist social justice.

As an ESRC Postdoctoral Research Fellow, she is working on a spoken word poetry project at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge where she completed her doctorate (Gates Cambridge Scholarship). She also worked for the Drug Policy Voices project at the Department of Sociology, MMU, and was selected as emerging European poet for the Versopolis platform.

Her next project, titled ‘Poetic Justice Access: “The Stormzy Effect” and Youth-Led Creative-Community University Partnership Remodelling Elite Education’ aims to co-create new partnerships to bring intersections of live and digital Spoken Word, Hip Hop, grime and urban youth cultures in widening participation with underrepresented youth groups in higher education.
