Description

Speaker: David Erdos, Faculty of Law
Abstract: This workshop will explore the implications of the UK implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation for the collection and further processing of personal data in academic research. This new law comes into force in May 2018. The workshop will explore the scope of the law, when the purpose of processing is likely to be considered to be for “academic purposes” and when for “research/statistics” and what follows from this in terms of how data should be managed.
