This Basics session explores the technical fundamentals of machine vision and discusses the societal and cultural impact of these systems, including the challenges and opportunities faced by humanities and social science researchers using computer vision systems as research tools.

Basics sessions are open to staff and graduate students who want to learn and apply digital methods and use digital tools in their research.
