Principles of metadata creation, version control, and database construction
Led by: Dr Gabe Recchia (Concept Lab, CRASSH)
Organising the contents of your own laptop and shared folders can become a huge drain on researchers’ time. Wrestling with badly-named files in unreadable formats or dealing with confusion over which is the final version of a document can waste energy and resources which could be put to better use. This session will introduce principles of metadata creation, version control and database construction in order to help build good archival habits and keep your unruly data under control. No prior experience of programming or digital methods is required.
This event is open to staff and PhD students at the University of Cambridge. Spaces are limited and must be booked online here
