Poster Competition
We are looking for engaging visual “snapshots” of DH research in Cambridge to display in a poster exhibition which will be staged during the CDH Searching Questions symposium on 11 July 2018 and a gallery on our new website.
What’s required?
a poster which communicates your research to a non-specialist audience
an appealing design which has an immediate visual impact
jargon-free, easily understandable text
Format and submission requirements
Posters should be A1 or A0 size and can be either landscape or portrait format. Please send your entry by WeTransfer (https://wetransfer.com/) to admin@cdh.cam.ac.uk by 12 noon on 25 June. Please also send a separate email with your name, affiliation and poster title to the same email address.
Winners will be notified by 2 July and announced at the symposium on 11 July.
Need some design tips? This guide from the University of York’s Humanities Research Centre is a good place to start: https://www.york.ac.uk/hrc/postgraduate/opportunities/poster-competition/design-tips/
Who is eligible to enter?
The competition is open to all Cambridge PhD students and staff. Early-career researchers are particularly encouraged to submit entries.
Judging and exhibition
The competition will be judged by an interdisciplinary panel chaired by CDH director, Professor John Rink. The winning entries will be displayed in the exhibition at the CDH symposium on 11 July, and a larger selection will be uploaded to our website in the form of a poster gallery.
Prizes
The winners of the competition will receive cash prizes as follows:
First prize: £80
Second prize: £60
Third prize: £40
We look forward to receiving your entries!
