Amaia is an MPhil student at the CDH, interested in the construction and re-embodiment of personhood and gender in the digital age. After completing a joint honours undergraduate degree in American Studies and English, she hopes to consider the reinventions of human and inhuman figures within canonical works of science fiction and how these shape contemporary understandings of individual and collective digital experiences.
She is also excited about the growing opportunities for digital and immersive exhibitions within the GLAM sector, and their potential to make the arts more accessible and equitable than ever before.
