Laura Maher is an MPhil student at Cambridge Digital Humanities. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Queensland, Australia, where she majored in Ancient History and Philosophy. During her Honours year, Laura examined the socio-cultural influence of classical reception in Physique Pictorial magazine from 1955-1960. She is interested in studying the circulation of subcultural digital media, language development in virtual communities, and the transmission of ideology through memes.
