Shuxian Liu is an MPhil student at CDH. She grew up in Chengdu and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Archival Science at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou. During her undergraduate study, she focused on the digital divide, community informatics, the relationship between migration, acculturation, and information practice of migrant workers in China, as well as the digitisation of cultural heritage and the critical thinking of digital heritage. Her research at CDH will explore issues of power relations, personal freedom, and privacy related to digital technologies, and the macro and micro political, cultural, and social implications of digital technologies. She is also interested in critical theories of digital technologies and postcolonial digital humanities.
