Sophia is German-American from Frankfurt, Germany. However, she was born in Cambridge and is excited to be returning for her Master’s studies. Sophia has a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Information from the University of Amsterdam and attended Boston College in the US for a semester as part of her studies. Sophia is interested in the shifting media landscape and how its relationship evolves and differs over time.
Her bachelor’s dissertation analysed the interface of the social reading platform Wattpad and its ability to create a participatory culture and niche culture of communities. She intends to expand on this research during her MPhil in Cambridge.
Sophia’s hobbies include analyzing the luxury market, keeping up with popular culture, and spending time with her beloved dogs.
