Zuojing (Isabelle) received a BA in Media and Cultural Studies from Lancaster University with first class honours. She specialises in the philosophy of technology on ideology shaping. At CDH, her research delves into the societal impact of the internet, engaging topics in online surveillance capitalism, gamification, and propaganda. She starts a conversation between academic fields that are seldom in dialogue, namely neurological and sociological theories. Her previous business-centric analyses with text mining and data visualisation in internet companies and documentary industry fuelled her enthusiasm for the transformative potential of digital methods in reshaping humanities’ approach in a technical and human-centric age. In her free time, Zuojing is a professional dancer and tennis player.
