Teaching Digital, Geographical, Medical and Natural Sciences at Cambridge, Chen is a Higher Education Academy Fellow. Chen designed and convened a transdisciplinary network on emerging digital development and health/wellbeing: Browsed . Bridged . Beyond, funded by a CDH Award in 2021-22. This connected 100+ students, scholars and professionals from research institutions in the UK, Belgium, Romania, Kenya, Indonesia, China, the US and so forth, as well as international organisations such as UN-Habitat & World Bank.

Chen cares about the vulnerable (e.g. young refugees’) health/wellbeing and how this relates to digital inclusion and innovation. An Archive of Tomorrow Methods Fellow, Chen researches health gender inequalities during the pandemic in the UK, performing academic, social and political impacts. Chen is a digital and migration expert at Cities Coalition for Digital Rights and the UN.
